In a tradition that began in 2021, The Women International continues to honor women who transcend boundaries and make a difference in various spheres of life. From advocating for justice to overcoming obstacles, each honoree’s story resonates with empowerment and positive impact.

  1. Funsho Oluyemi’s story is a captivating blend of resilience, innovation, and unwavering faith. From her Nigerian roots to her upbringing in London City, Funsho’s journey spans diverse sectors, including maritime, telecomms, waste management, and tech. Her legal background provided the foundation for her entrepreneurial ventures.

In 2016, Funsho boldly launched Turban Tempest, starting from humble beginnings but quickly rising to prominence in Africa’s fashion scene. With Turban Tempest, she redefined beauty and empowerment, attracting attention from prominent figures like Ms. Jay from America’s Next Top Model, Naomi Campbell, Nigeria’s Former First Lady Aisha Buhari alongside Mrs Folorunsho Alakija.

Building on Turban Tempest’s success, Funsho introduced Template in 2021, catering to modern women’s dynamic lifestyles. Both brands have amassed a global following of nearly 100,000 clients, symbolizing Funsho’s visionary prowess and commitment to empowerment.

Funsho’s dedication to social impact led her to establish Spirit Man, a fusion of fashion and mental health advocacy, encouraging vulnerability and spiritual connection among men.

  1. Chidinma Chukwuemeka is the visionary co-founder The Footwear Academy and on a mission to reshape Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape by empowering its youth through the craft of shoemaking.

Having refined her skills at Accademia Riaci in Florence, Italy, alongside her husband and business partner, Chidinma returned to Nigeria with a burning passion to revolutionize the local shoe industry. Through The Footwear Academy, they equip artisans with the tools and knowledge to create top-tier footwear, offering training, employment opportunities, and access to quality materials.

Chidinma’s entrepreneurial prowess extends beyond her company’s success. As an Edmund Hillary Cohort 8 Fellow, she has been lauded with numerous awards, including the esteemed Her-Network Start-Up Woman of the Year 2019 and the Star of Business & Entrepreneurship Award at YALI West Africa Nigeria Cohort 4.

Her impact resonates globally, with The Footwear Academy securing victories in renowned competitions such as the Proudly Made in Aba Hackathon and receiving substantial grants, including the esteemed $50,000 Ford Foundation grant.

Beyond business, Chidinma is a fervent advocate for youth and women empowerment. Her involvement in initiatives like The Young Enterprising Women in Africa network (YEWA) underscores her commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth.

  1. Morenike Molehin is the founder and Creative Director of Oak and Teak, a full-service interior design firm that’s highly recognized in the African market. Oak and Teak caters to a diverse clientele, including finance, hospitality, non-profits, educational institutions, and luxury hotels. Morenike’s leadership has really propelled Oak and Teak to become a leading interior design enterprise globally. They’ve successfully completed numerous projects of varying complexities over the years.

Morenike’s contributions doesn’t stop there. She’s also passionate about nation-building and has hosted free seminars, training over 100 individuals in the business of interior design. Her commitment to the younger generation is truly inspiring. She founded the Grow with Renny Mentorship program, impacting a group of young ladies every quarter. In 2023, they hosted the Grow with Renny conference, which brought together over 500 young women. It’s all about empowering the next generation and helping them grow in every area of their lives.

Morenike’s entrepreneurial acumen has not gone unnoticed. She’s been honored as one of “Africa’s 100 Most Impactful Women Founders” and has been nominated for the prestigious Eloy Awards under the entrepreneurship category. She’s also a Member of the Advisory Board of TDA Group. Interior Design HQ has recognized her as one of the top 15 Nigerian Interior Designers who are redefining the industry. She’s also the co-founder of the Oak and Teak Foundation, where she focuses on making a positive impact in healthcare and education. Through the foundation, she actively contributes to transformative initiatives, showing her commitment to social responsibility and community development.

Morenike Molehin is truly an UNSTOPPABLE woman, making waves in the interior design industry and beyond!

  1. Kubi Springer is a brand marketing expert and Director of Brand Marketing at AVANTGARDE MEA. With 26 years of experience and an impressive portfolio of global powerhouses, Kubi Springer’s name has become synonymous with three words – She Builds Brands. Renowned for her in-depth knowledge and understanding of industry trends, Kubi has created a reputation of being able to launch and grow brands to international markets, with a focus on the brands’ commercial development and sustainability.

Passionate about cultural trends, female empowerment, and the commercial impact these have when taking a brand ‘Glocal’. She started her career in 1996 and have since delivered brand marketing campaigns for consumer brands that include Nike, L’Oreal Paris, FENDI, Charlotte Tilbury, Rolls Royce Motor Cars and Aston Martin. I have worked with celebrity brands such as Beyonce, P.Diddy, Justin Timberlake and Rio Ferdinand, delivering brand partnerships.

Over the last 13 years she has been delivering brand training and keynote speeches for clients like Facebook, British Vogue, TikTok, the Labour Party, Deloitte, Harper’s Bazaar Women’s Summit, New York University, London College of Fashion and Oxford University. Her keynote focus is on ‘Personal Branding & Leadership’, ‘Global Brand Marketing’ and the ‘Power of Culture Marketing’.

In 2022 she was awarded ‘Global Consultant of the Year’ by Consulting Magazine, in 2023, she was shortlisted as the ‘Marketer of the Year’ by the Performance Marketing Awards, UK and in 2020 she was nominated for the ‘Best Marketing Book of the Year’ by the British Book Awards, for her published book entitled ‘I Am My Brand: How to build your brand without apology’ by Bloomsbury publishing.

Today she sits on the board of the Veuve Clicquot ‘Bold Woman Awards’, have a regular column in Harper’s Bazaar and work as Director of Brand Marketing for Avantgarde MEA, in Dubai.

  1. Deborah Ababio’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. As the former executive assistant and right-hand woman to Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue and European editorial director for Vogue, she earned the revered title of “Gatekeeper to the Throne” by the Evening Standard newspaper. Her role was marked by moments of unparalleled ingenuity and resourcefulness, from organizing a Mother’s Day cocktail reception for Oprah with just three days’ notice to securing last-minute access for 20 attendees at a Beyonce concert with only two tickets in hand. Her experiences spanned from coordinating exhilarating 24-hour shoots with Rihanna to orchestrating unforgettable events like a 50th birthday and a surprise wedding with just weeks of preparation.

Following four years of dedicated service, Deborah was promoted to global entertainment director at Vogue, The Talent Group at Conde Nast. In this prestigious role, she spearheaded celebrity and talent bookings and curated entertainment content across all Condé Nast titles and platforms, with a focus on Vogue. Her collaborations resulted in iconic covers featuring talents such as Taylor Russell, Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham, Dua Lipa, Uma Thurman, and many others, each showcasing their unique charisma and artistry.

Today, Deborah channels her passion and expertise as the founder of Ad Curated Agency.   1. Blessing Adesiyan stands as a distinguished leader in corporate, tech, and manufacturing sectors, boasting an impressive background in Chemical Engineering. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded operational, energy, and global business solutions for esteemed Fortune 100 companies like PepsiCo, Cargill, DuPont, and BASF. Notably, Blessing has championed the establishment of multiple employee resource groups, offering vital support to parents and caregivers in the workplace.

As the Founder & CEO of Mother Honestly, known as MH WorkLife, Blessing has cultivated a dynamic ecosystem dedicated to fostering a robust care infrastructure for today’s workforce. Under her guidance, MH launched WorkLife & Care Equity, a national non-profit dedicated to advancing workplace equity by advocating for vulnerable workers’ needs, including Blacks, Latinos, immigrants, and hourly workers. Demonstrating her commitment to Africa’s potential, Blessing founded Caring Africa, an NGO focused on enhancing care initiatives on the continent for women, working families, and economies.

Blessing has a BSc. In Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, an MSc. In Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology, and an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in people’s lives, coupled with her passion for transformative change, truly makes her UNSTOPPABLE in her pursuit.

  1. Francesca Uriri is a passionate advocate for gender equality and women’s empowerment, operating at the intersection of equity, social impact, and international development. As the Founder of Leading Ladies Africa, she leads a women-led, women-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing gender equality and equity by empowering African women and girls. Through its programs and strategic interventions, Leading Ladies Africa has directly impacted 30,000 women, 12,000 girls, and reached 182+ communities across Africa. With a community of over 300,000 African women and girls, the organization provides tools and skills to challenge gender and societal norms, empowering them in their careers, businesses, and leadership roles.

Francesca’s vision is to create a just world where African women and girls have equal opportunities and access to lead meaningful and impactful lives, free from systemic, cultural, religious, and political barriers. In addition to her advocacy work, Francesca is a corporate and inclusive communications leader with 17 years of experience, specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), sustainability, and policy communications. Currently serving as the Communications Lead and Advisor for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Product Equity at Meta (formerly Facebook), she develops and implements strategic communications programs to advance Meta’s Equity, Diversity, and ESG efforts.

As a writer, Francesca has published numerous non-fiction and fiction pieces on local and international media platforms. She aspires to publish an anthology of poetry, a collection of short stories, and a memoir in the future. Francesca’s remarkable contributions have earned her recognition as one of the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent, highlighting her dedication to the advancement of people of African descent worldwide.

  1. Olamide Olowe is the CEO and Co- Founder of Topicals, a beauty and cosmetics company started in September 2018. After struggling with hyperpigmentation and other chronic skin conditions Olamide created Topicals with former co-founder Claudia Teng to address dark spots, discoloration, exczema-prone skin and other concerns.

By 2022, she made history by becoming the youngest Black woman to raise $10 million in funding, according to Forbes. In total, she raised $14.8 million for Topicals before age 26 Topicals also became Sephora’s fastest-growing skincare brand as it sold one product per minute in 2022.
She made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list making her the youngest Black woman to do so.

Following her own challenges dealing with acne, Olamide’s aim in founding Topicals was to support people who struggle with skin conditions like hyperpigmentation and dark spots. In addition to skin care, Olowe is focused on mental health (via financial support to advocacy organizations) and inspiring fellow entrepreneurs.

Olamide is pursuing her passions and turning them into an ever-growing enterprise. She’s UNSTOPPABLE!

  1. Chidera Akwuba is a distinguished Public Affairs and Government Relations expert, she serves as a Senior Manager at Henkel Nigeria. She leads the Transformation and PAG department, focusing on brand amplification, stakeholder management, and forging value-driven partnerships. For nearly a decade, Chidera has played a pivotal role in driving organizational advancement across various industries.

Currently pursuing a DBA with a specialization in Business Transformation, Chidera’s relentless pursuit of excellence and her drive to impact lives have earned her recognition as one of the top 100 Career Women in Nigeria in 2022 and as an inspiring figure among Nigeria’s 50 most inspiring women by BusinessDay in 2023.

As the CSR Ambassador for Henkel Nigeria, Chidera has been instrumental in advancing Henkel Nigeria’s two flagship social impact initiatives, transforming lives nationwide. The first, Researchers’ World, has enriched over 1000 children with scientific knowledge to foster innovation, while the Peer-to-Peer scheme has transformed over 250 unemployed youths into gainfully employed entrepreneurs, significantly contributing to societal growth. Furthermore, Chidera has championed mental health well-being among female employees at Henkel by initiating a mental health awareness gathering that created a safe space for women to connect. To further deepen her commitment to empowerment, she collaborated with Iya Henry on her maiden gathering aimed at supporting women’s empowerment, underscoring her dedication to uplifting and empowering women in various capacities.

  1. Dr. Busola Tejumola stands as a beacon of excellence and innovation in her role as the Executive Head of Content at MultiChoice Nigeria. With a rich and diverse background spanning various business domains, including technical support, service delivery, business development, insights, strategy, content, and production, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.

Her educational journey reflects a commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan, she furthered her studies by obtaining a Master’s degree from the University of Surrey before embarking on her doctoral studies at Brunel University in London. It was during this period of academic pursuit that she commenced her career journey at MultiChoice, where she has since played a pivotal role in shaping the entertainment landscape.

She is also a Founder and Managing Director of The House, a leading social house concept founded in 2017, where she is primarily responsible for the business outperforming all financial projections since conception by an average of 25%, with the aid of her creative and disruptive strategies.

Prior to The House, Tobi was an Executive Director at Balosh Integrated Services where she led an operational and strategic revamp of the business to increase yearly revenue.
Tobi currently holds, not only an MSc. (distinction) in Strategic Marketing and Competitive Intelligence but also, a Professional Marketing Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK and a Disruptive Strategy MBA in International Business from the Harvard Business School.

  1. Onyekachi Iroha is a permanent cosmetic artist and the driving force behind Beauty Atelier. Onyekachi is not just your average beauty entrepreneur, she is an internationally recognized Creative Artist, Human Resources Professional, and Chemist. Her academic journey boasts a Master’s degree (CIPD) in Human Resources Management from the prestigious University of Bradford, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.

With over 8 years of experience in the beauty industry, Onyekachi stands as a beacon of expertise and innovation. Her relentless passion for beauty and unwavering commitment to excellence paved the way for the inception of Beauty Atelier.   1. Ifeoma Stella Okoye is an internationally certified event planner and beauty artist. While her background lies in law, her passion for creativity drew her into the realms of events and beauty. With six years of active legal practice and four years as a human resource specialist under her belt, she founded STM Magical Creations Ltd seven years ago. STM Magical Creations Ltd is renowned globally for crafting meticulously detailed event experiences and brilliant beauty transformations.

She holds an LLB in Law from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, an LLM in Intellectual Property Law, and is currently pursuing an MBA in Event Management. A fervent educator at heart, she serves as a senior lecturer teaching Event Management for the Executive Masters Program at the University of Nigeria Business School, Enugu Campus. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, creativity, and professionalism, she excels as an exceptional event planner, educator, and talented beauty artist.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Ifeoma’s company was handpicked by Facebook as one of Nigeria’s leading SMEs, earning her a coveted spot on the Facebook Council of Nigeria in 2016. She also serves as the Educational Officer for EOPANSE (Event Organizers and Practitioners Association of Nigeria South East) and is a valued member of APPOEM (Association of Professional Party Organizers and Event Managers of Nigeria).

Ifeoma’s accolades include receiving the Event Personality of the Year and Makeup Artist of the Year awards at the Xperience Womanity Awards in 2015. She has graced prestigious speaking engagements for esteemed organizations including She Leads Africa, Facebook, and EOPANSE.

  1. Dr. Joyce Omatseye is a renowned physician and healthcare advocate dedicated to improving medical access and quality of care for individuals. With a wealth of experience in the medical field, Dr. Omatseye has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and promoting health equity.

She pursued her medical studies at the esteemed University of Liverpool, complemented by a First-Class Degree in Management BSc from Imperial Business School during her intercalation. From navigating the challenges of the ICU to frontline duties in the A&E department during the peaks of the pandemic, Dr. Omatseye’s journey as a physician has fueled her determination to pursue her goals.

Beyond her role as a doctor, Dr. Omatseye harbors a deep-seated passion for holistic healthcare, encompassing interests in healthcare policy, health innovation, and entrepreneurship. Her multifaceted contributions extend to various leadership roles, including serving as a Core Council Member of the Royal Society of Medicine student section and currently holding the position of Foundation Doctor rep (A&E) in her hospital.

Her outstanding contributions have been recognized through accolades such as the Dean’s Community Award for Inspiring Brilliant Minds at Imperial Business School. She’s also the founder of Ara Nini Health where she is creating safe and empowering spaces for women in to learn about their health.

Dr. Omatseye’s dream is to one-day develop technologies and policies that will improve healthcare systems in both developed and developing countries. She’s UNSTOPPABLE.

  1. Dr. Esther Longe is a visionary leader on a mission to guide individuals, families, and nations back to a profound intimacy with God. Renowned for her ability to distill complex issues into easily understandable concepts, she empowers others with practical instructions for transformation. As a speaker, author, teacher, and coach, she inspires and equips individuals to embrace necessary change and foster personal reformation.

She is the founder of God in Real Life Outreach, a ministry dedicated to facilitating encounters with God in everyday life. Through various expressions including Broken, God in Real Life, The Alternative Business School (TABS), and the G.O fellowship.

With a robust academic background in marketing, including degrees from prestigious institutions such as the University of Lagos and the University of Bath, Dr. Longe has leveraged her expertise to serve global brands like PwC, GT Bank, and Pizza Express. She has also contributed her talents as a Super Mentor for the FCMB Sheventures Programme and as a facilitator for the Africa Green Grant award.

Dr. Longe’s resilience and miraculous survival from the Nigerian plane crash of 2006, where only nine out of 105 passengers onboard lived to tell the tale, is a testament to her unwavering strength and faith. Despite the harrowing experience that claimed the lives of so many, she emerged unscathed, standing as the sole survivor without injury. This incredible ordeal undoubtedly left an indelible mark on her life, shaping her into the fearless leader and beacon of hope that she is today.

Dr. Longe is a beacon of wisdom and insight on a journey to guide individuals back to the essence of divine intimacy. She’s UNSTOPPABLE!

  1. Chioma Momah is a distinguished Public Policy Lawyer, Author, Parenting Educator, and Coach. She holds a degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and pursued further education, earning master’s degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration from Anglia Ruskin University, UK, and University of Exeter, UK respectively. With numerous certifications from esteemed institutions worldwide, Chioma is recognized for her expertise and dedication to her field.

As the Founder of Let’s Encourage a Reading Nation (LEARN) and a board member of organizations such as the Association of Children’s Authors and Illustrators of Nigeria (ACAIN), Chioma is committed to fostering improved literacy and education initiatives.

Chioma has penned several books for both children and adults, including “First Day at the Big School” and “Choosing the Right Uni.” Additionally, she is a dynamic public speaker and facilitator, addressing topics ranging from family life and parenting to gender, education, and communication.

In her role as a Coach, Chioma provides invaluable guidance and mentorship to women and parents seeking to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. A devoted wife and mother of four, Chioma’s unwavering dedication to her family and her professional endeavors is truly remarkable.

  1. Simisola Gbadamosi, a 12-year-old Nigerian, is fueled by a passion for creativity and community. Her journey into the Creative Arts began early, sparked by her love for baking, which ignited her entrepreneurial spirit at the age of 3. Her dedication led to her remarkable achievement of winning the Best Creative Kid Entrepreneur Award at the Bella Africana Ace Awards at just 6 years old.

Simisola’s love for storytelling blossomed as she ventured into writing captivating short stories and poems that ignite the imagination. In 2021, her journey took an exciting turn when she was chosen for the lead voice role in “Iwájú,” an animated series produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and Kugali Media in collaboration with Disney+.

Set in an Afrofuturist world, “Iwájú” celebrates African culture and characters, with Simisola lending her voice to Tola, a young girl from a wealthy island embarking on thrilling adventures alongside her best friend, Kole, a self-taught tech expert. This groundbreaking series marks several significant milestones in animation history, including Disney’s first original long-form animated series and their collaboration with African storytellers for an animated series set in Africa.

Off-screen, Simisola enjoys reading, drawing, cooking, playing the violin, and spending quality time with loved ones. Her passion for creativity and community shines through in all aspects of her life.

  1. Gbemisola Abudu is an accomplished entrepreneur, business leader, luxury marketing expert, and social activist with 17 years of experience developing and building businesses, brands, and human capital in Africa, the Middle East, and North America.
